Jack Cassidy

Jack Cassidy was an American actor and singer. He was born in Richmond Hill, New York, in 1927 and began his career as a stage actor, performing in productions on Broadway and in regional theater. He was also a talented singer and appeared in several musicals.

Cassidy's Broadway career included performances in productions of "The Rope Dancers" "A Streetcar Named Desire" and "She Loves Me" among others. He was also a regular performer on television, appearing in a variety of programs in the 1950s and 1960s.

He is best remembered for his role as Harold in the television series "The Eamonn Andrews Show" in the 1960s. He also appeared in several films including "The Anderson Tapes" and "The Ouija Board."

He was also known for his personal life and being married twice, first to actress Evelyn Ward and then to actress and singer Shirley Jones, both marriages ended in divorce.

Cassidy died in a fire in his West Hollywood apartment on December 12, 1976, at the age of 49.
